| Abstract | This quasi-experimental research aimed to study the effects of an alcohol drinking prevention program in lower secondary school female students in Bangkok. The sample was 48 female secondary school students under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office One, Bangkok. The experimental group (23) received the alcohol drinking prevention program which applied from Health Belief Model for 4 weeks. The program was composed of learning activities, health guidance and campaign activities for alcohol drinking prevention. The comparison group (25) received regular health education instruction by their school. The instrument used to collect data was a self-administered questionnaire. Statistical analysis was performed using frequency, percentage, mean scores, standard deviation and t-test. The results showed that after all the activities, the mean scores of perceived susceptibility of drinking alcohol, the severity of drinking alcohol, the benefits of not drinking alcohol and the barriers of preventing from drinking alcohol of the experimental group, were statistically significant higher than before experiment, and the comparison group at a level of 0.05. |
