| Abstract | Work-related diseases are undoubtedly preventable. Legislations and theirenforcements are among the current tools used for prevention and control of such diseases.Similar to several countries, there are several labor laws in Thailand which protect workersprior to, during and after they become sick or injured because of work. The most essentiallaws, for Thai occupation health/medicine providers, are Workmen Compensation Act B.E.1994 and Labor Protection Act B.E.1998 and their ministerial regulations and notifications. Thisarticle summarizes Thai labor laws into 4 groups namely, laws related to hazardous workingconditions, law related to occupational diseases, laws related to medical services in theworkplace and laws related to occupational health services. |
