| Abstract | The study was performed as descriptive study to evaluate blood and body fluid splash during vaginal delivery about incidence rate of splash, factor(s) related to splash and factor(s) related to amount of splash. Number and size of splash droplets at front and side of goggles wearing during four hundred vaginal deliveries by extern, resident and staff were recorded into questionare. Data analysis showed that the splash incidence rate at front of goggles was high(48.7%) but was not found at the side panel. The number of splash droplet at front ranging from one to twenty three per delivery. The factors related to splash are nullipara, high maternal weight, operative delivery, obstetrician (staff), mediolateral episiotomy, third and fourth degree of perineal tear and long delivery time. This study found that no such factors related to the amount of splash. |
