| Abstract | The rapid change of technologies in the digital age has a tremendous effect on current learning and teaching and teaching methods, which will be occurred in the near future. While most students bring their own smartphones,tablets or computer devices to schools, teachers need to practice skills in using these devices to keep up with technology and make use of them. This is due to the tendency of teaching in recent years that allows students to bringtheir own devices to schools instead of prohibit and use them with the applications called formative assessment tools to create an active learning, which encourages student participation in the classroom. These tools aim at allowing teachers to promptly realize the progress of their teaching. The teachers can then adjust teaching strategies to the meet the needs of the students. It is also possible to offer weak students with individual support.The literature suggests that the use of assessment tools affects the student of willingness to learn, student participation, enjoyment, and motivation to attend classes. However, since there have been a number of these tools, this make it hard for novice to choose. This article provides a definition of formative assessment and describes a variety of tools, provides a comparison of important features of tools, and shows examples of popular tools that can be customized for use. |
