| Abstract | Purpose of the Study: This literature review aims to analyze research papers related to specialty coffee using a bibliometric approach.Methodology: Research articles from Web of Science and Scopus spanning 20 years from 2001 to 2020 were gathered and analyzed using bibliometric program and their analysis is presented in the forms of tables, diagrams and graphs. This study is divided into 2 parts. Part 1 examines general descriptions of the research: researchers, research agencies, publishers, and coffee-producing countries using citation analysis method. Part 2 analyzes the contents of the existing literature to identify directions for developing future research works on specialty coffee using analytical methods of bibliographical coupling and co-word analysis.Main Findings: The analysis of the specialty coffee papers reveals that most of the research authors, research agencies, publishing houses, and the leading coffee-producing counties of research works are found in Brazil and the United States of America which are specialty coffee-producing and consuming countries. Moreover, the bibliometric analysis method provides research data, knowledge structure and directions for future research related to special coffee.Application of this study: This study provides specialty coffee stakeholders with good foundation for the development of business plans to meet specialty coffee market trends. In addition, it provides guidelines for using bibliometric approach and program to analyze documents and present results of the analysis. |
