| Abstract | Background: Currently, Thailand is an ageing society. An increase of age related to changes of physical and physiology. These changes lead to body degradation that affects a health-related quality of life and activities of daily living.Objective: To study a health-related quality of life and activities of daily living in elderly at Pathumthani Social Welfare Development Center for older persons.Materials and methods: Using information form, Thai (Thailand) EQ-5D-5L paper version and Barthel Activities of Daily Living Index: Barthel ADL Index (Thai version). Data were analyzed in term of descriptive statistics and presented in form of frequency, percentage, average and standard deviation. Most of participants joined activities with the center. Most of participants had no problems regarding health-related quality of life in mobility, self-care, usual activities, pain or discomfort, and anxiety or depression. Furthermore, both male and female participants had an average EQ-VAS in good and moderate levels, respectively. All participants were independent to do their activities of daily living.Conclusion: Most of participants had no problems in health-related quality of life, had an EQ-VAS in moderate to good level and were independent to do their activities of daily living that were resulted from participating activities in the center. Therefore, the elderly should be encouraged to participate in appropriate activities to promote their health-related quality of life and ability to perform their activities of daily living. |
