| Abstract | Green area is an important factor determining life's quality of urban people. This research aims to analyze the satisfaction and willingness to pay of the urban users to the characteristics of green area in Bangkok. Primary data were collected by using questionnaires to interview the green area users which included 300 samples. Data were analyzed by choice modelling technique. The results showed that most of the users wanted more fast-growth trees. The users focused on green area with tree-labeled; special zone; and environmental learning center. After improving the above attributes; it was found that they were willing to pay 29.45 baht / person / time to visit the green area. In addition; when increasing the shaded trees; they will be more satisfied and were willing to pay 6.50 baht for the increasing in the area of shaded trees of 4 acre. Therefore; related government agencies; Park bureau and Environmental bureau should consider planting more fast-growth trees to provide lager green area. Moreover; increasing the area of shaded trees; putting up the tree-labeled with characteristic description; increasing the environmental learning center; and special zone i.e. herbal zone are suggested to enhance the life's quality of urban people in Bangkok. |
