| Abstract | Monoclonal antibody (MAb) is a monospecifcimmunoglobulinproduced by hybridomas. Single chain variable fragment (scFv), a MAb derivative,is a fusion protein of the variable regions of the heavy (VH) and light chains (VL) of immunoglobulins, connected with a short linker peptide.MAbs and scFvs against naturally occurring pharmacological active compounds were prepared and applied to pharmacognosical works, including quality control of medicinal plants byELISA and Eastern blotting, immunohistochemistry and immunocytochemistry localization of bioactive compounds in plants and cell lines, one-step purifcation by immunoaffnity chromatography, enhancement of medicinal constituents by the new technique named "missile type molecular breeding". |
