| Abstract | The purposes of this study included the following: 1) to investigate the level of ethical leadership, people’s participation and the effectiveness of corruption prevention in the villages of Ban Muang District, Sakon Nakhon Province, 2) to examine the influences of the village leaders’ ethical leadership and people’s participation on the effectiveness of corruption prevention in the villages of Ban Muang District, Sakon Nakhon Province. Obtained through stratified sampling technique, the samples consisted of 398 people who resided in Ban Muang District, Sakon Nakhon Province. The questionnaire was used as an instrument for collecting the data while statistics employed for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Multiple Regression Analysis. The study revealed these results: 1) The overall village leaders’ ethical leadership in the villages of Ban Muang District, Sakon Nakhon Province was at the high level. Likewise, people’s participation in corruption prevention in the villages of Ban Muang District, as a whole, was at the high level. In addition, the overall effectiveness of corruption prevention in the villages of Ban Muang District, Sakon Nakhon Province was also at the high level. 2) Regarding the ethical leadership, every aspect/ sub-variable of the ethical leadership could be used altogether to correctly predict the effectiveness of corruption prevention in the villages of Ban Muang District, Sakon Nakhon Province 35.50%. Of these aspects, their prediction power could be shown from the most to the least as follows: power sharing (β = .289), taking care of others (β = .212), and justice (β = .116). As for the people’s participation, all aspects/ sub-variables could be used to correctly predict the effectiveness of corruption prevention in the villages of Ban Muang District, Sakon Nakhon Province 37.00%. The prediction power of these aspects could be subdivided as the following: work participation (β = .365) and participating in an evaluation (β = .228). |
