Abstract The purposes of this research were ; to synthesize the problem and guidelines for promoting literacy of the Thai language subject area in the first grade. The sample consisted of 42 research documents from ThaiLis Digital Collection database, published from 2010 to 2018,164 primary school teachers for Thai language subject area in first grade under. - (1) Buriram Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, (2) Surin Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, (3) Sisaket Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, and (4) 389 primary school student for Thai language subject area in first grade, selected by the stratified random sampling technique. The research instruments were a research quality evaluation form and a research characteristics form, questionnaires and literacy diagnostic tests. The statistics used to analyze data were meta - analysis, percentage, mean, standard deviation, rank order and content analysis.The findings of the study revealed that there are 7 problems for Thai Literacy of Thai Language Subject Area in First Grade. These are. - 1) consonant, 2) vowel, 3) intonation marks, 4) no final consonant, 5) final consonant, 6) diphthong, and 7) leading consonant. Three guidelines are proposed to promote literacy namely. -1) using teaching model ; the highest mean score was blended leaning, 2) using teaching technigue and teaching ways ; the highest mean score was spelling, and 3) using intructional media ; the highest mean score was practice.
