| Abstract | In Thailand, serological studies in backyard chickens are scarce and serological surveillance of Infectious Laryngotracheitis in backyard chickens are missing. The objective of this study was to investigate the infectious laryngotracheitis antibody in backyard chickens of Mae Fah Luang district, Chiang Rai province. During June to July 2013, one hundred and two, backyard chickens from thirty villages were randomly selected for blood collection. Sera were tested for the presence of ILT antibody by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The results showed that ILT antibodies were found in 89.22% of the chickens. The average antibody titer was 2,118.67?2,656.75. These data demonstrate the high seroprevalence of ILT in backyard chickens of Mae Fah Luang district, Chiang Rai province; therefore, it is possible that this group could act as a reservoir for commercially kept poultry |
