Abstract This study aimed to design and evaluate a day–night simulation system using Dynamic Spectrum Lighting (DSL) integrated with an artificial intelligence–based automation control to regulate the growth of broccoli sprouts. A factorial experiment was conducted under photoperiods of 12:12 h, 16:8 h, and 18:6 h combined with blue:red light ratios of 40:60 and 25:75. The results indicated that extending the photoperiod significantly increased the average height from 6.8 ± 0.5 to 11.3 ± 1.1 cm and the fresh weight from 92.4 ± 6.1 to 158.9 ± 12.4 g/tray, while the germination rate ranged from 91.2 to 96.8%. The blue:red light ratio of 25:75 consistently produced superior growth performance compared with the 40:60 ratio. The developed system effectively regulated sprout growth and demonstrates strong potential for application in smart agriculture systems.
