Abstract Design and fabrication of the indoor aeroponics cultivation systemswith artificial light has an objective torespond to the needs of people who are living in urban areas which are limited space. It has been developed to be lightweight, inexpensive, efficacyenough and control the cultivation systemswith a smartphone. The process has consisted of 1) design and fabricationofthe indoor aeroponics cultivation systems with artificial light and, 2) the efficacy testing was done by comparing it with the commercial DRFT cultivation systemswith artificial light. The efficacy testing was lyingout in the T-testand done by sowing the seed of kale for 7 days and then transfers the seedling to both types of cultivation systems for 42 days. The growth of kale was observed and collected to determine the fresh weight, dry weight, and root length of each stem. For the designand fabrication process, the indoor aeroponics cultivation system with artificial light has nine planting channels with six kilograms overall weight, can be controlled with a smartphone, and fabrication cost is about Baht 2,000. For the efficacy testing,it was found that the kale grown onthe indoor aeroponics cultivation systems with artificial light had fresh weight, dry weight, and root length as 269.67?5.11 gram, 13.48?0.25 gram, and 55.88?2.82 centimeter respectively. While, the kale that grown onthe commercial DRFT cultivation systems with artificial light had fresh weight, dry weight, and root length as 276.30?6.15 gram, 13.83?0.16 gram, and 38.81?1.15 centimeter respectively. The kalethatgrown on both cultivation systems has shown no significant difference in fresh weight and dry weight. However, there was a significant difference at a 99% confidence level in root length. The kale thatgrown on theindooraeroponics cultivation systems with artificial light had longer roots than the kale thatgrown on the commercial DRFT cultivation systems with artificial light.
