It's like the steering wheel of a car or boat, which steers a boat or car in the direction the driver desires. Whatever principles a person has for life, he will live accordingly. In "Phra Ananda Buddha Anucha," there are numerous examples of the lives of noble ones, both monks and laypeople, with the Buddha as the model, followed by Phra Ananda. On the householder side, there were both men and women, such as Anathapindika and Visakha, the great laywoman. Although these people still lived in households, they all enjoyed the happiness and peace of life. |
