| Abstract | This research aimed to examine the current state and desired state of human capital management at private vocational colleges based on the concept of vocational student characteristics in the ASEAN Community. Data were collected from 218 vocational colleges by eliciting data from 360 informants comprised of 176 administrators and 184 teachers. The research tool was a questionnaire which was used to collect and analyse data by frequency, percentages, means, and standard deviations. The results revealed that the current state of human capital management at private vocational colleges based on the concept of vocational student characteristics in the ASEAN Community was at a high level. The desired states were at the highest level in recruitment and selection, and professional development. Performance management and compensation was also found to be at a high level. |
