| Abstract | The situational survey of the Fishing Act impact on fishing business put an emphasis on the case study of commercial fishing in Amphoe Muang Rayong and Amphoe Klang, Rayong province. The purpose of the study is to explore the change of the fishing business after the proclamation of law in 2015. The research methodology consists of field study, document research and in-depth interviews among people involving in the fishing business in the provincial area. The law enforcement has affected people, especially among fishing business. While the sea resources utilization including sea borders and aquatic animals is limited, fishermen could not access their own job. These reflect the lack of understanding in cultural context and community way of life. By solving the illegal fishing, state focuses on control measures including legislation of the fishing boat registration, the banning of local fishing equipment including Pong-Pang, tug boat, Roon boat etc. The law enforcement has led to unfair and unsustainable in fishing system management, whose results is inequality of resources distribution. Hence, this study could provide insight on evidence-based facts and people life in their own cultural context. |
