Abstract | In recent decades, moving to the capital city was particularly common in Southeast Asia. What were the highest compared to other regions around the world? The country of Myanmar, the Philippines, and Indonesia, where various factors occur that are similar and different from the capital of Thailand, therefore this article aims to study the factors that resulted in the relocation of the capital of the above countries and interviews with experts in urban management in Thailand. To apply the analysis results in the future. The result found that factors that caused the relocation of the capital cities in Southeast Asia consisted of 3 factors as follows; 1) Geographical factors, 2) Congestion factors, and 3) Political and administrative factors. When compared to the capital city of Thailand, it found two factors are similar, the geographical factor and the congestion factor. The causes of such factors were explained through urban planning theory and human and social development theory. This result found that the most important factor in moving the capital city in Thailand is the topography factor resulting from climate change. Finally, to manage the capital city in Thailand. The author suggests that the city planning guidelines should be use the concept of Adaptive management and Resilience city for the city planning can be adjusted according to actual situations, including moving important government centers outside the city to reduce congestion. Maintain the original capital city like Bangkok to maintain the identity of Thailand. |
