Abstract The purposes of this research were 1) to study state of science project instruction in secondary school in the southern region. 2) To study problems of science project instruction in secondary school in the southern region. 3) To compere problems of science project instruction classify by office of schools, size, and location of schools. The sample groups were 268 of secondary schools in the southern region. The research instruments were three sets of questionnaires and an interview form. The obtained data were analyzed in term of percentage, mean, standard deviation, variation, and content analysis. The research findings were as followed 1) state of science projects instruction classify by steps and method of science projects were selecting project topic, students do it based on attendance. Teachers stimulate them by questions, advice while designing and report writing steps and suggest resource for do project. Students find material and equipment by themselves, do project in laboratory room on free time and weekend. Parents of students support budget. Projects showed in school academic fair. Adviser and other teachers assess project by student’s process. 2) Problems of science projects instruction classify by students, adviser and factors, research find that problems were at the middle level. 3) The comparison problems of science projects instruction classify by office of schools, and location of school that problems of science projects instruction were not difference, only classifying by size was difference at the statistically significant level of .05.
