Abstract The purpose of this study is was to compare the progress of working as a group in art subject of the second-grade students before and after knowing the 5 steps management. The group samples 45 students each of the second-grade. The group sample number one was taught by using the 5 steps management for 18 times, 50 minutes in each session for six weeks. The tools are 1) Learning management in art criticism for the second-grade student. 2) Working process of analyzing the information with the average, standard deviation and compare the result of the analyzed information with the independent t-test. The result had found that 1) The average result of the 5 steps learning management that effect the working as a group are statistically significant different at .05 level. Planning progress is statistically significant different at .05 level. In operation result statistically significant different at .05 level. In evaluation and development result statistically significant different at .05 2) Behavioral processes of working as a group with the 5 steps learning management had found that behavior of every group is in very high level.
