Abstract | This research aims to 1) study the present condition and expectations of teachers regarding supervision of teaching English teachers; and 2) provide guidelines for supervision of teaching English teachers. The population was 431 elementary schools and selected by purposive sampling. The research instruments were a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. Analyzed data by using mean, standard deviation PNImodified and content analysis. The research found that the current level of teaching supervision in English language teachers was at a high level and the expectation was at the highest level. The instructional media was the highest priority needs. The guidelines for supervision of teaching English teachers are in 4 dimensions. 1) Curriculum: should be systematic, provide training on course development, encourage teacher to prepare and submit a learning plan on a regular basis, and supervise the teacher through clinical supervision. 2) Teaching activities: develop new English teaching in accordance with the international standard, provide enough supervisors, encourage cooperative between English teachers and foreign teachers, and encourage to attend instructional training courses 3) Teaching media: provide multimedia production training and encourage to use technology media. 4) Learning assessment: promote the use of advanced assessment programs, provide international standard assessment training, and support teacher to plan, improve knowledge of learning assessment. |
