Abstract | Under the "2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development", education has been established as Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4), but the reality of global education continues to face severe challenges. With the rapid advancement of Al, it has become a crucial tool to enhance the effectiveness of education. By analysing the influence of Al in education, including personalised learning, data-driven precision teaching, and automated assessment, this paper further explores the relationship between Al and sustainable development as described in the publicly released documents by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Ultimately, it proposes a series of strategies to promote the realisation of global sustainable development through Al education, including nurturing global citizens with Al thinking and sustainable development literacy, narrowing the digital divide, constructing an equitable and quality AIeducation ecosystem, and incorporating ethical principles of sustainable development into AI education. The final conclusion is that AI education plays a pivotal role in advancing global sustainable development goals and that there should be a comprehensive enhancement of its importance, with strengthened technological support and ethical norm construction, to make a positive contribution to global sustainable development goals. |
