| Abstract | Water is a resource that plays an important role in the development of Thai local areas, both in terms of economy, society and environment. However, many areas of Thailand are currently facing water resource problems, such as drought, flood, lack of clean water and deterioration of water sources, which directly affect people's quality of life and potential for local development. However, effective water management helps promote agriculture, which is the main occupation of most Thai people, as well as supporting the industrial and tourism sectors, production and people's quality of life. At the same time, water shortages and water disasters, such as floods and droughts, directly affect local sustainable development. This article focuses on studying the relationship between water and local development in Thailand, considering the impact of water management on local lifestyles, livelihoods and economic growth, including analyzing water management problems, such as drought, floods and deteriorating water quality, as well as sustainable water management guidelines that can be applied in the context of Thai local areas. |
