Abstract | Educational information systems in the digital age it is imperative that we continue to evolve to support online and distance learning. This research aims to study and synthesize the development of educational information systems in both international and Thai contexts, as well as analyze trends and directions in educational information technology development for the future. Using a systematic literature review methodology following PRISMA guidelines, the study examined research published between 2017-2024 from ThaiJO and Google Scholar databases. After screening, 34 relevant studies were identified. The findings reveal that the development of educational information systems can be divided into 4 periods: pre-COVID-19 (during the year 2017-2019) focusing on basic development, COVID-19 period (during the year 2020-2021) emphasizing adaptation to online learning, post-COVID-19 (during the year 2022-2023) concentrating on advanced technology applications, and the current period (during the year 2024) focusing on specialized system development. Most research prioritized digital leadership development and administration, personnel competency development, and technology integration in teaching and learning. Future trends indicate a focus on artificial intelligence for personalized learning, development of blended learning systems, and assessment of long-term impacts of technology use in education. |
