Abstract | The objective of an analytical study of meditation principles in Theravada Buddhism this time is to study other types of meditation and study meditation principles in Theravada Buddhism in order to analyze the principles of meditation in Theravada Buddhism as documentary researchusing the Thai Tripitaka Maha Chulalongkorn Royal College B.E. 2539 as a primary document. In other studies of meditation, meditation in different religions is similar: it focuses on faith. Praise. Concentrate on God. Other types of meditation are applied to other sciences, such as applying the mindfulness4in medicine to help reduce various unpleasant emotional states with the objective of achieving happiness in life. Studies have shown that the main principles of meditation in Theravada Buddhism are the main Dharma bodies, namely BodhipakkhiyaDharma (Dharma for the attainment of virtue), namely Mindfulness 4, Samma Padhan4, Itthibat 4, Indriya5, Bala 5, Bojjhahga7, Attthatigika-magga 8, there are as many as 40 practices (Kammata 40). “Precepts”develop the mind to meditate with samathaBhavanauntil “contemplation”and develop wisdom with vipassana Bhavanauntil enlightenment is achieved. “Wisdom”meditation completes the Dharma of enlightenment (Poshchank) and has a complete practice of the 8thPath. The main goal of practicing meditation in both Samtha and Vipassana is to attain Dharma as Arhat (liberation by concentrationand liberation through wisdom), which is a special feature of meditation in Theravada Buddhism. |
