Abstract | This research aims to examine the relationship between Buddhist principles, local wisdom, and social service activities in addressing alcohol consumption issues among youth in Nong Khai province. This study employs a qualitative research approach in the form of action research. The sample group was purposively selected, consisting of 71 key informants who met the specified criteria. Data analysis was conducted using in-depth content analysis within a social context, following the qualitative data analysis framework proposed by Miles and Huberman. This framework consists of three main steps: data reduction, data organization, and conclusion drawing with validation. The findings indicate that Buddhist principles, local wisdom, and social service activities play a role in addressing youth alcohol consumption in Nong Khai province. Youth in the province can be categorized into three main groups: (1) those who are still in the education system and receive guidance from teachers regarding the dangers of alcohol, (2) those outside the education system, and (3) labor workers, who are the most affected by alcohol consumption. Regarding drinking behaviors, three key issues were identified: accidents, conflicts, and criminal activities. |
