Dhammapadatthakatha was a collection of stories told by people from the Buddha's time as shown in the Tripitaka. Buddhist way of life was a life that follows a natural path (or the reality of nature). The Lord Buddha attained enlightenment that is the truth of nature. He was enlightened by the heart. Thus the heart is the first priority over everything. He expressed the need for human happiness in this world and the next. An important principle expressed in the Dhammapadatthakatha is the law of karma that shown cause and effect in three tenses, one in the past, two in the present, and three in the future.Buddhist way of life based on Dhammapadatthakatha was divided into two types: 1) Monks were divided into two groups: the Ganthadhura group that focused on the study of the Dhamma and Vinaya. And Vipassanadhura group that focused on the practice of Dhamma. 2) The lay people were divided into two groups: the noble people and the common people. There were 3dimensions of Buddhist way of life based on Dhammapadatthakatha: 1) the self-dimension, there were principles of charity, precepts and meditation. 2) Family dimension, there were principles of righteousness. 3) Social dimension, there were principles of Dhammasanghavatdhu.Phasukvihardham and Fellowship. All Dhamma principles were summarized in the Threefold Discipline: morality, concentration, and wisdom.
