Abstract | Many communities today are found encroaching on public spaces, public water sources, forests, mountains, tourist sites, and fisheries, contaminating and degrading natural resources, and using resources without boundaries and ignorance. How to deal with the environment in the community. Local governments, therefore, play an important role in environmental management, because they hold ownership legally as required by law and are closest to the community. This article will discuss the roles of local government organizations in environmental management as required by law. There are 4 main functions; an action role, a promotion role, a coordination role, and a support role. This role has been created to better solve resource and environmental problems in the community and facilitate people in the community. In addition, local government organizations also have the authority to manage the environment according to the 2017 Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand which focuses on people in the community taking advantage of the resources available in the community, for livelihoods and occupations, people in the community love and cherish the natural resources and environment in the community. It also provides opportunities for all sectors to participate in the management of resources and the environment in the community. |
