Abstract This research has the objectivess 1) to study the art on the pediments of the Ubosot or Vihara of temples in Chaiya District, Surat Thani Province in terms of art, including content, patterns, and materials, 2) to study religious aspects, influences from the era that appear on the art of temple pediments in Chaiya District, Surat Thani Province. The research area consists of 12 temples by selecting from the completeness of the pediments, by studying related research documents, and collecting research data using observation recording tools, interviews, photography, and data analysis. Summarize the research results according to the objectives. The results of the research found that the most content appearing on the temple gable was about Brahmanical and Buddhist idols, which consisted of Vishnu, Thenom, and Buddhist idols such as the Dhamma Chakra, Buddha images. The Dharmachakra appears on the gables the most, followed by content related to nature which consists of the Pudtan flower pattern and the pattern that is most used to decorate the main image is the Kankhod pattern which consists of Kan Khod pattern with a big tail, Chor Thep Phanom, and Chor Kan Nok. The pattern that comes into the gable is inferior to the Kan Khod pattern to the Phuttan flower vine pattern. Phum Khao Bin pattern flora pattern and lotus pattern. The material used to create the gable is a stucco pattern, including lacquer, gilding, coloring, and stained glass decoration will appear the most and next is the part of the gable that is carved into the wood. It is decorated with lacquer and gold leaf, decorating glass and painting with and also found a gable decorated with glazed terracotta tiles shows that what appears on the church gable reflects aspects of the story of religious beliefs. Both Buddhism and Brahmin Including the value of architectural design, which has changed styles over time according to the era, the architecture of most temples is traditional, including tiled roofs consisting of chor fa, rooster leaves, swan tails, and the gable is still carved wood. Engraved, stucco patterned or decorated with glass. The gable pattern reflects the relationships of people in the community, the environment, and the values and beliefs of the people in the community that are included in architecture under the appearance of the elements in each part, especially the church gable pattern, which is considered the most important things which are contemporary in each historical period and the influences that have resulted.
