Abstract Training has long been associated with organizations’ development and their performance improvement. However, the reports of low training transfer call for attention and further investigation to researchers and HR practitioners. Low training transfer has led organizations to waste considerable amounts of money in terms of training costs each year. This study proposes key factors impacting the transfer of training in the workplace from a review of the related literature. Five key factors were identified followed by 15 underlying subfactors impacting training transfer. A conceptual framework is proposed for future research related to the topic.
