Abstract | In the field of forensic anthropometry, determining stature and gender is a crucial chapter. The aim of the study was toidentify the significant role of all variables on the hand in determining the identity of gender and stature. A total of 568 medicalstudents, who were born and raised in various regions of India and were from the age of 18 to 25 years, were chosen for adescriptive cross-sectional study. The length, maximum and minimum circumferences, thickness, and breadth of both hands weremeasured using a digital vernier calliper and a cotton thread. The results were predicted using the Statistical Package for theSocial Sciences (SPSS 20) computer software. To varying degrees, both hand parameters have a significant relationship withstature and gender. Statistical formulas were used to determine stature and gender. Forensic scientists and crime scene expertswill benefit greatly from the results of this investigation. |
