Abstract | Computational analysis is conduct to investigate the comparative study between V-cut vortex generator and without Vcut vortex generator at different spacing lengths. Water is the working fluid, and the Reynolds number is varying in the range of300 to 1,500. Computational results are validated with the available literature, and SST k-ฯ turbulence model is used for thecomputational analysis. The performances of both designs are compared by using performance evaluation criteria (PEC). Frictionfactor, heat transfer rate, and performance evaluation criteria are evaluated in both cases for different spacing ratio (2-8) betweenthe vortex generators. The overall performance evaluation criterion for the modified design (V-cut vortex generator) is found toincrease in the range of 0.66 to 6.18% as compared to the original design (without V-cut vortex generator). They concluded thatthe modified design is more effective as compared to the original design. |
