| Abstract | Many governments of countries cooperate with SDGs and set a standard of business procedure related to sustainable development. At the same time, United Nations calls for actions and the business sector’s role in responding to the challenge of delivering a positive contribution to the public through business operations compliant with the SDGs. There is the support that it will strengthen the business and lead to new business opportunities. It will also help build good relationships with other stakeholders. It is becoming mandated by governments and stock exchanges. Overall sustainability reporting is becoming more demanded across the globe. It is occurring in European Union and outside including in Thailand. The Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand requires sustainability reporting alongside financial data for all listed companies.The tourism and hospitality industries are often the focus of discussions on sustainability because activities that affect the economy, society, and environment cause impacts on the environment and the original infrastructure. Therefore, hotels realize the importance and commitment to sustainable development, which plays a vital role in responding and being responsible to stakeholders and pointing out the opportunity to compete for market share in developing countries. It will positively affect that country's economic and social growth because it involves capital development and employment creation. In addition, the practical sustainability approach is beneficial for cost reduction. It receives positive consumer reactions by increased satisfaction and a better view of the hotel image to the hotels that commit to this concept. The sustainability approach can be applied to many types of hotels, whether a hotel that focuses on luxury or 5-star hotels. |
