Abstract With the increasing popularity of information technology and the Internet, the transformation and development of domestic provinces are closely related to rural e-commerce. However, the academic circles lack sufficient understanding of the development laws and spatial differentiation characteristics of rural e-commerce in China. Therefore, this study used panel data from 31 provinces in China for the period from 2013 to 2018 and selected many Taobao Villages as the evaluation index for rural e-commerce. Furthermore, a description and an overview of the current situation of rural e-commerce development in various regions in China and a summary of their spatial distribution characteristics were examined. Software, such as Stata and ArcGIS combined with spatial correlation analysis, nuclear density analysis, and the spatial pattern characteristics and intervention factors of my country's provincial Taobao villages used other spatial analysis methods. This article was based on the cornerstones of the Queens Matrix and the Economic Distance Matrix. Under the premise of considering the spatial effects, the spatial measurement model was used to investigate the impact of local economic development on the development of Taobao Village. Specifically, this study applied the spatial lag model and the spatial error model in the spatial measurement model to estimate the spatial interfering factors of rural e-commerce. The outcome presented that every province's local economic development level affected the development level of rural e-commerce, which showed that rural e-commerce in a particular region was affected by neighboring provinces. In the model, these findings provided a basis for China to formulate a new rural e-commerce policy. Simultaneously, this emphasized the importance of developing new policies to reduce spatial inequality in China's e-commerce investment, for instance, using the spatial effects of supercluster development to promote polycentric development. The study also guided future studies about the detailed effect of China's regional economic progress on rural economic development.
